Ross Education: Pedagogical Revolution
Courtney Sale Ross, the widow of Steve Ross, Time Warner’s former CEO, is boldly involved in causes related to education. In 1991, she started to actively participate in enhancing education programs when she and her husband founded the Ross School. The school serves as an innovative interdisciplinary center where students get the highest quality of education.
To improve her reach to more students, she founded the Ross Global Academy, a pioneering public charter school with a global mindset. Her aim is to make Ross Global Academy an institution that would equip students with the flexibility needed in analyzing various cultures; to slowly transform into distinguished personalities; to live healthy while continuously nurturing a zeal for learning; and finally, to possess the ability to seriously and skillfully analyze.
Courtney Sale Ross also heads the Ross Institute for Advanced Study and Innovation in Education, a non-profit research institution that acts as a venue for elevating education practice to a higher standard.
Courtney Sale Ross also yearns for a better and more productive US-China relationship. Several institutions in China, like the Shanghai Museum, have benefitted from her generous support.
Her other interests lie in the fields of film and the arts. In fact, she established a modern art gallery in Dallas, Texas before she became engrossed in her educational reform campaigns. As a result of her interest in films, she has produced quite a number of movies and documentaries like “The Big Picture” and “Stroke of a Genius.”
